Palace On Wheels Train

With a noble motive to promote tourism in Rajasthan, the Rajasthan Tourism Development Corporation and Indian Railways launched the first Indian luxury train Palace on Wheels, on 26th January 1982. This royal Indian train has 14 guest coaches, all reflecting a decorative style similar to the personal carriages used by the Maharajas of the yore.

Over the years, the train has been refurbished many times to accommodate technological advancements to ensure a better tour experience for the guests. Moreover, modern high-tech amenities have been introduced along with modifications in the itinerary and off-train excursion tours. The warmth of hospitality and the welcoming ambiance of Palace on Wheels never miss casting their charm on guests.

The coaches of the Palace on Wheels derive their names from the princely states of India and so does the motiff of decor. There are 4 twin bedded chambers in each coach and is soaked in the ethnic decor.

The Palace on Wheels features state-of-the-art amenities and en-suite facilities. Each guest carriage is a replica of an original private salon of erstwhile Maharajas, Nizams and Viceroys of India.

Cabins
