What is the Ticket Price of Palace on Wheels

The tariff of Palace on Wheels is decided according to the type of occupancy chosen by the travelers. The type occupancies on the Indian luxury train, are single, double and triple occupancy. Each of these levels of occupancy have their own separate fares per person per night journey.

Also, the tariff changes from season to season. There are two seasons for booking journeys on the Palace on Wheels – peak season and the lean season. The harsh summer climate of India is the reason that the train does not run between the months of May to August.

The months before and after this summer season, that is April and September is the lean season for India, therefor good time from the point of prices.

The winter season, starting from October and lasting in March, is the peak season for tourism and the tariff is higher during peak season than the lean season.

Palace on Wheels Terms & Conditions

• Children below the age of 5 years can travel with a 10% of charge of the total cost of the journey. For children in the age group of 5 to 12 years, half of the journey cost will be charged. At the time of issuance of tickets, age proof certificate of the child/children needs to be furnished.
• For special festive departures like Christmas (25th December) and New Year (1st January), a surcharge of 10% will be added on the total fare of the Palace on Wheels train tour.
• On total journey price of Palace on Wheels, Service Tax @5% will be applicable.
• The above mentioned tariff is subject to change without a prior notification.

Palace on Wheels Booking and Cancellation Policies

• At the time of booking 20% of the ticket cost is payable. The remaining amount must be paid at least 60 days prior to the departure date.
• Tickets are non- transferable to one person to another, but can be cancelled when needed.
  Cancellation fee for tickets before 3 months from the departure date is 5%.
• Tickets cancelled between 30-89 days before the departure date will get refund of 80% of the ticket cost.
• For cancellations within 29 days from departure, there will be no refund.
• There will be no refund, in circumstance of not showing up at departure, late arrival during departure, insufficient documents or other legal problems.
• Refund will not be provide, if guests de-boards the train or cancels the tour in the middle of the journey due to any reason.
• For cancelation of group tours at least 90 days prior to the departure date, 90% of the ticket cost would be refunded.
• In any case of any cancelation of the train trip by the Palace on Wheels due to any natural calamities or other problems, there will be full refund of the ticket cost. Any such mishaps will be communicated at least 30 days before the departure date.

No show/ En route termination of tour / amendment:

• No Show – In case of No Show / Non-arrival of the guest, no refund or adjustment in future travel will be possible. The whole amount shall be treated as forfeited.
• En route termination of tour – In case of termination of tour by the guest, for any reasons, no refund or adjustment for future travel will be possible. The amount for unused portion of the tour shall be treated as forfeited.
• Amendment – Is only possible under the circumstances like Natural Disaster / Natural Calamity or Serious Health Problem’s (this needs to be supported by doctor’s certificate) and is subject to availability. No refunds are possible and every case will be decided on merits on a case to case basis. No amendment will be permissible in case of booking of groups or complete train.

Palace on Wheels Inclusions

• Travel, catering, conducted sightseeing, entrance fee at monuments/parks/palaces, cultural programs, camel ride at Jaisalmer, boat ride at Udaipur and rickshaw ride at Bharatpur.

Palace on Wheels Exclusions

• Drinks, tips, laundry, telephone calls, video camera fees, business car facilities, liquor and other items of personal nature.
