There are various superlatives associated with this historic attraction of Delhi and India, such as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, tallest minaret in India, and the crowning glory of the Tughlaqs. The minaret is 72 m high and is constructed using marble and red sandstone, which makes this attraction an architect’s delight. The 7 m Iron Pillar, adjacent to the minaret, is a metallurgical enigma. This has not rusted, though it dates back to the first millennium.
