Also known as the Red Fort of Agra, Agra Fort was erected during the 15th century by Mughal Emperor Akbar. This fortress is placed quite near to the Taj. The construction of this fort begun in 1565 and final additions were made during the reign of Shah Jahan, Akbar’s grandson. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, the walls of Agra Fort houses a number of beautiful structures such as Khas Mahal, Diwan-i-Am, Diwan-i-Khas, Jahangir Mahal, Saha Jahani Mahal, Pearl Mosque, Nagina Masjid, Garden of Grapes etc.
